Welcome to NEWESD 101

Our Mission: Collaborating with schools and communities to lead, serve, and innovate—delivering essential services and creating opportunities for every learner to thrive.

NEWESD 101 strives for continuous improvement in each of our departments, and in all of the programs and services we provide. We attempt to constantly navigate north – to improve quality in professional practices and in student learning, with a prioritization on building respectful relationships with those we support.

    PUBLIC DISTRICTS Our region includes the state’s second largest school district, the state’s smallest district, and every size district in between. Individually and together, each works to achieve excellence for all students.

    STATE-APPROVED PRIVATE SCHOOLS Numerous outstanding religious-based and otherwise private schools provide exceptional learning opportunities for all enrolled students.

    CHARTER SCHOOLS All are located in Spokane and chartered by Spokane Public Schools or the WA State Charter School Commission; these schools provide additional options in education.
